My story
A few years ago, I was in the middle of a Spikeball game, an outdoor sport, when I noticed something. The picture on the left shows this exact game that I was playing in when I realized something that changed my life. While we were all having a blast, I realized how often we’d default to hitting the ball with hands. Even though you can use other body parts, typically you don’t in Spikeball. Then it hit me: what if we could play a game with the back-and-forth intensity of Spikeball with a game like soccer that I had also always loved playing, where no hands are ever used? This prompted the newest outdoor sport creation – KickSpike.
How the outdoor sport was born
I kept coming back to the idea of this outdoor sport. I sketched out possible rules and concepts after school for two years. Then one day, the idea for KickSpike really took shape. In this outdoor sport, players keep the ball off the ground by kicking it into the net without ever using their hands and aim to bounce it off a large net so the other team cannot return it to gain points. Also, depending on how advanced the players are, we have various rule sets based on the size of the ball and the net, which are fully customizable.
From my soccer buddies to my Spikeball buddies to my family members, EVERYONE was excited to give it a try. They loved that it combined the movement of Spikeball with a completely different challenge. One that took skill, coordination, and creativity without the use of hands. This is extremely different from most outdoor sports.

After seeing how much my friends enjoyed it, I knew this could be more than just a game we played on the weekends. KickSpike was born. This blog is part of that journey: to bring a fun, new outdoor sport to as many people as possible. So, whether you’re a seasoned soccer player or just someone who loves trying something new, KickSpike is for you.
Thank you for being part of the journey and our community. Let’s keep the game going! Click here to get your KickSpike net today!
